Every person in the state of New York who is a server or seller of alcohol should take this course. Although it is not currently state-required, taking the course will be beneficial to you. As a liquor-serving employee, you will receive protection in the event of an alcohol-related incident. Plus, you will become more hirable, as you will already be certified by a program that is approved through the Empire State Restaurant Association.
On-Premise Certification is for any establishment that serves alcohol by the glass or single bottle or can that is intended to be consumed on the establishment premises. This is usually restaurants, bars, hotels, nightclubs, private parties and even outdoor festivals.
Off-Premise Certification is for any establishment that serves alcohol by the bottle, case or single cans that are intended to be taken off the store premises to be consumed elsewhere. This is usually liquor stores, grocery stores, gas stations and convenience stores.

The course is approximately 2 hours in length.
The lesson quizzes must be passed at 70% to move forward to the next lesson. You will have to pass the final exam with a 70% or more to get credit for completion of the course.
Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to print your certificate immediately.
The permit is valid for 3 years.
